The condition of women in New India is diverse and varies depending on various factors such as geography, culture, religion, and socio-economic status. While there have been some significant improvements in the status of women in recent years, women still face many challenges and inequalities.

On the positive side, women have made progress in many areas, such as education, politics, and the workforce. More girls are getting enrolled in schools and colleges, and women are increasingly participating in politics and governance. Women have also made significant contributions to the workforce and are now seen in various fields, including Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics(STEM), finance, and management.

However, despite these improvements, women in India still face various challenges, including gender-based violence, discrimination, feticides, domestic violence, sexual harassment in the workplace, and unequal opportunities. Social evils such as dowry, sati-system, child marriage, and female infanticide were widely prevalent in the early ages. For instance, despite laws against dowry, it is still prevalent in many communities, and cases of domestic violence against women are still high. There are also still disparities in access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, particularly for women from marginalized communities.

Additionally, women face societal pressure to conform to traditional gender roles and stereotypes, limiting their choices and opportunities. The issue of women's safety, especially in public spaces, remains a significant concern, with many incidents of rape, trafficking, forced prostitution, honour killings, harassment, and assault reported regularly.

In conclusion, while there have been some positive changes in recent years, there is still a long way to go to achieve gender equality and improve the condition of women in New India. More efforts are needed to address the social, economic, and political factors that perpetuate gender inequalities and discrimination against women.
