Topic: Simple Future Tense

Objective/Aim: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand simple future tense and able to use them. 

Tools/Materials: 
  • whiteboard and markers, 
  • textbook, 
  • handouts with exercises and examples

Teaching Method:
Activity 1: Warm-Up
Ask some questions to check students' previous knowledge about the topic. 

Activity 2:
Present the concept of the simple future tense using visuals and examples. Explain that the simple future tense is used to express an action happening in future time.
Examples:
(a) She will write a book.
(b) The players will not play a match tomorrow morning.
(c) Where shall we stay tomorrow?

Activity 3: 
  • Give students handouts with exercises focusing on forming sentences in the simple future tense. 
  • Include sentences where they have to identify the simple future tense and rewrite sentences in the simple future tense. 
  • Walk around the classroom to provide assistance and answer any questions.

Group Activity:
  • Divide the class into four groups. Provide each group a real-life scenarios. For Example, make plans for weekend trip, discuss the goals for upcoming year or share predictions about future inventions.
  • Instruct them to write a short story in the simple future tense by describing the scenarios.
  • Encourage creativity and collaboration among group members.
Evaluation/Review: Have each group share their story with the class. Provide feedback on accuracy and fluency, and address any common errors.
