A trip to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple can be said to be a spiritual and remarkable experience. The holy temple stands in the Trikuta hills situated near the town of Katra in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Annually, the venue attracts millions of devotees across the globe with immense faith and devotion.

My adventures started from Katra, the base camp of the Yatra. Early morning, we began our 13-kilometre trek to the Bhawan. The trek route was neat and tidy with the chants of “Jai Mata Di” that filled the air, giving a holy ambiance. On the way, there were sights of mountains, shops of items for offerings, and halting stations that refreshed the weary devotees.

Finally, after several hours of walking, we reached the Bhawan. The temple is a cave where the Goddess has been worshipped in the form of three pindis. Standing in the cave and praying gave me immense satisfaction. The darshan, which I received, brought immense strength to my faith.

After the darshan, we visited some nearby locations such as the Bhairon Temple and enjoyed the peaceful environment. The travel was exhausting, but it was filled with happiness and devotional tunes.

The trip to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple has actually been a learning lesson in being patient and believing in faith and the power of spirituality. It has been one of the most significant journeys that I have undertaken in my lifetime.
