Such a sentence, which shows the condition is called Conditional Sentence.
ऐसा वाक्य जो शर्त प्रकट करता है, Conditional Sentence कहलाता है ये वाक्य 'यदि' या 'अगर' से प्रारम्भ होता है और वाक्य के बीच में 'तो' या 'तब' आता है ।
Rule 1. Do not use 'will' or 'shall' in a clause with 'If'.
नियम 1. If के साथ clause में will या shall नहीं लगाते हैं ।
Rule 2. After 'If', in the place of 'then' use comma(,).
नियम 2. If के बाद 'तो' की अंग्रेजी के लिए then न लगाकर comma(,) लगाते हैं ।
Rule 3. 'Should' means 'If' in some places.
नियम 3. कुछ स्थानों पर Should का अर्थ If होता हैं ।
Rule 4. During translation, to show the condition of Present tense, use Present tense.
नियम 4. Present tense की शर्त प्रकट करने के लिए अनुवाद करते समय Present tense का ही प्रयोग करते है।
Example :
अगर तुम कमजोर हो तो तुम्हें पढ़ाई को अधिक समय देना चाहिए ।
If you are weak, you should give more time to studies.
Rule 5. For the condition of Past tense, the sentence with 'If' uses Past Perfect tense and second sentence uses 'would have' with the third form of the verb.
नियम 5. Past tense की शर्त के लिए, If वाले वाक्य में Past Perfect tense का प्रयोग होता है और दूसरे वाले वाक्य में would have के साथ verb की third form का प्रयोग करते है ।
Example :
यदि कनिका कठिन परिश्रम करती तो पास हो जाती ।
If Kanika had worked hard, she would have passed.
Rule 6. In Passive voice, 'would have been' is used with the third form of the verb.
नियम 6. Passive voice में would have been के साथ verb की third form का प्रयोग करते है ।
Example :
अगर सरदार पटेल का देहांत न हुआ होता तो कश्मीर समस्या हल हो जाती ।
If Sardar Patel had not died, Kashmir problem would have been solved.
Rule 7. For the condition of Future tense, the sentence with 'If' uses Simple Present tense and second sentence uses Simple Future tense.
नियम 7. Future tense की शर्त के लिए, If वाले वाक्य को Simple Present tense में और दूसरे वाले वाक्य को Simple Future tense में प्रयोग करते है ।
Example :
यदि तुम परिश्रम करोगे तो उत्तीर्ण हो जाओगे ।
If you work hard, you will pass.
Rule 8. For Fictional Condition, singular Subject is used with a plural verb.
नियम 8. काल्पनिक शर्त के लिए, singular Subject के साथ plural verb का ही प्रयोग करते है ।
Example :
यदि वह मेरे स्थान पर होता तो बीमार पड़ जाता ।
If he were at my place, he would fall ill.
